It's all about me - Meekat.

Nothing ever goes away until it teaches us what we need to know.

What motivates people? What stresses them out? Why do we procrastinate? Is it possible to answer such questions?

We are going to give it our best shot. But first of all, why try at all?

Because we have issues with all those self help books out there.

Firstly, they cost money. So we have published this site and it's freely available on the Internet.

Secondly, they are long. Why take 300 pages to explain a seven point bullet list? So we have kept things short and light hearted.

Thirdly, they recycle the ideas from the author's last book or from someone else's. We've gone for two out of three.

Someone, somewhere, sometime has already discovered what we could possibly ever write about. So let's not kid ourselves or you. We have therefore instead tried to present some current and traditional wisdom in a different format. So the material is in bite-size chunks using short comic strips and commentary. If we had known that drawing comics is neither easy nor bite-size, we would still be thinking about starting now. But sometimes you just have to catch the wave and see where is takes you - even if it is out into the middle of Atlantic ocean.

The Boring Bit

We have split each page into three parts. The first are the cartoons and they are often part of a series that can be found on subsequent pages. The second section contains some comment or observation related (but often quite tenuously) to the subject of the comic. The third is a little more serious and also provides additional discussion based on feedback about the page. We have added links to other sites to give weight to certain points and these are marked with * to indicate they will take you to another website. Typically they link to news articles and popular sites rather than academic research because nobody reads scientific papers. (Prove us wrong, but where are the Facebook likes?). The links will however invariably have other links to more heavyweight material and you can always Google stuff yourself.

Dip in and enjoy some pages. Hopefully you will be inspired to come back for more. And you can pick up where you left off using the link on the home page.

* an asterisk at the end of a link means that if you click this link you will be taken to another site.
